There is a long list of false generic claims, in my opinion, of what gold does for our skin. Don’t be honey-dipped by the flattery, flash & status of gold. Let’s talk about whether or not a gold face mask is ACTUALLY worth it.
What Does A Gold Face Mask Do To Our Skin?
The long list of false claims includes being able to renew skin, improve blood-flow…while somehow simultaneously soothing it, impart antioxidants, minerals (but are these absorbable or even useful?), slow the depletion of collagen, stimulate growth of new cells, and reduce appearance of wrinkles…but how on earth how? Seriously, research the science behind this yourself before actually putting gold on your face. I don’t think gold is harmful, but I do think it is futile.
I actually bought gold masks from three different companies that will remain unnamed and tried them myself. Some of these masks had other ingredients that caused superficially hydrated or over-exfoliated skin, and this effect could be naively confused with these claims.
What To Use Instead
My conclusion…don’t bother with gold for your skin. The Dermal Nutrients in my serums are worth more than their weight in gold…actually doing all of these things through the profound absorption and metabolization of actual-for real-nutrients. This might not be as sexy as gold in theory but more practical and effective. Guaranteed.
About the author
I took many wrong turns when I started learning about skin at 19. The more I spent on skincare, equipment, and training, the further I felt from actually helping skin. I was frustrated with only being able to offer temporary and superficial solutions at best. What emerged from the disappointment and turmoil, I now call, The Regenerative Skin Process. Skin Harmonics is a dedicated medical fusion holistic skincare clinic that provides a root cause approach delivering lifetime skin health through medical grade skin care products, new learning, and Deep Pore Cleansing Facials.
